Begin Menu in Windows seven
Begin Menu, as a major part of the Windows Aero, is heavily revamped in the Windows 7. The beginning orb conjointly shows a fade-in highlight effect whenever the user moves the cursor over it.
Normally, Windows seven’s Start menu still retains the familiar 2-column layout of earlier Windows OSs, with a few purposeful enhancements:
· The “Documents”, “Music” and “Pictures” buttons are currently related to their respective Libraries.
· The “Devices and Printers” option is currently accessible to manage all supported devices.
· To shut down Windows 7, you need to click a text link, it indicates what action will be taken if the link is clicked. Head to the Taskbar and Begin Menu Properties to configure its default action.
· Taskbar Jump Lists are now shown in the Start Menu through a little arrow; if the user moves the cursor over the small arrow, or hits the correct-arrow key; automatically the correct-hand facet is widened then replaced with the Jump List for an application, sometimes it shows previously saved or opened files. As an example, the Internet Explorer jump list will show recently visited internet pages.
The search box, 1st available with Windows Vista, has been modified to support looking things within the Control Panel. For instance, clicking the Begin button then searching “wireless” will display Control Panel choices related to connecting and configuring to wireless network, managing and troubleshooting Bluetooth devices.
Whereas the Cluster Policy settings in Windows Explorer let administrator or a complicated Windows user to place up to 5 net sites and 5 more “search connectors” in the Search Results view at the Begin menu. Fine Tune Your PC
The next time your change the oil in your car, think of your personal computer. You flush the oil in your car to get rid of the gunk and sediments that have slowly been deposited over time. Your PC tends to have many of deposits that come from a variety of sources. Each time a file is modified it may be moved or become fragmented (spread across different areas of the hard disk instead of remaining one intact whole). “Temporary” files are created that remain in the system, potentially forever. Keys and entries are added to the Windows Registry that are never removed. It all adds up to one slow computer, but there are some things you can do to fine tune your PC into top performance.
The quickest and easiest thing to do is defrag your hard drive. All Windows systems come equipped with Defrag.exe, a powerful little tool that rearranges the files on your hard drive for optimal performance. To “defrag” your drive, open up Windows Explorer (not to be confused with Internet Explorer) and right click on the drive you want to defragment (usually the C: drive). Click on Properties at the bottom of the drop down menu and then click the Tools tab at the top. Click the middle button that says “Defragment Now…” to run defrag.exe. Click the Defragment button and your off and running. Cclose all programs before doing this and don’t plan to do any work on your compute for a while. Running defrag could take up to some hours or even overnight.
You should also open the Start Menu and click “Run…” Enter “msconfig” (do not use the quotes) and click OK to run the System Configuration Utility. Click the Startup tab and you will see a list of all the services and programs that load automatically any time you start Windows. Keep your antivirus program and every programs you use regularly, but if you see programs you don’t use, simply uncheck the box. When you restart Windows, you will be asked if you want to run the utility again, so you can undo any changes if you made a mistake.
It’s also very important to clean the Windows Registry. This is not something you want to try one your own, since one mistake could prevent your computer from booting or functioning properly. Several software companies offer programs to do this for you, each with its own strengths and capabilities.
One website that reviews and compares registry cleaning software is Answer Registry Reviews at The site offers relevant posts on the Windows Registry and compares various registry cleaning software products. The website even offers good links to directly download and purchase products such as RegCure, Registry Mechanic and Registry Easy (among others) online. If your Windows system is running slowly or you suspect a virus, Answer Registry Reviews should be the first stop for information on what might be causing the problem and to download a product that would meet your needs to correct it.

How Bryan saved me from a slow computer
I have of late been suffering due to a very slow and irritating computer in fact it has annoyed me so much I was bitching about it in a local bar. The man I was chatting to was Bryan a good mate of mine and total nerd. I told Bryan of the problems I was having I sought his advice on a new computer. Bryan took a while to ponder my issue and while rubbing his bushy white beard said calmly “You don’t need another computer”. I reiterated to Bryan that I really did after all my computer was running very slowly and was annoying me to such an extent that I have genuinely considered destroying it with a house hold implement. In fact I was somewhat annoyed with Bryan for not recognizing my pain. However Bryan went on to explain his thinking further and said “I think the problem you have is Windows registry errors mate”. I guess what Bryan said would make sense to most computer guys but to me it was gobbledygook what Bryan said makes sense to computer savvy guys but to me it was like another language. Now I didn’t want to seem silly so I just said “I see Bryan” as if I knew what he meant. By this time Bryan had obviously noticed from the distant look in my eyes that I really had no idea what he was talking about. He produced a pen and paper and wrote upon the paper the web site fix-this-computer.com. He then went on to explain that I should visit this site and look under the fix windows registry errors section and from this I should select an option for a free registry scan which would identify and registry errors present on my computer and after this would give me the option to repair them. I took his advice and now my computer works a treat, cheers Bryan.
